Cable/Deadpool #50
What does it take for a guy like Deadpool to get his comic spotlighted one week? Well, it looks like the answer is: getting cancelled. That's right, this is the final issue of Cable/Deadpool, which is guaranteed to make it a bona fide collector's item! For years, people will be talking about where they were when they read the last issue of Cable/Deadpool. What went through their minds when they saw the venom-symbiote-infected dinosaurs, when they saw Deadpool make a joke about something, when they saw something wacky happen? You can find out if you pick up this final issue of Cable/Deadpool!
Hulk #2
I need to revise my earlier position on this new Hulk series--it turns out that, if you read the comic past that splash page of hulk shooting the abomination with a golden revolver, it's actually pretty danged good. This issue has more of what you want from your hulk comic: a bunch of people punching each other really hard and some splash pages. Also, a surprising twist!
The Immortal Iron Fist: Orson Randall and the Green Mist of Death
Have you been reading Iron Fist? No? Well, it doesn't matter. This comic is a one-shot that doesn't require any previous knowledge of the story to enjoy. It's just a wall-to-wall two-fisted pulp action so awesome you will cry. If you don't enjoy this, then you are ceding your right to ever enjoy anything again, because you are too jaded to enjoy the privilege of enjoying things. And it will be your own fault.
Zorro #1
A year and a half ago I might have just ignored this book as one of Dynamite's innumerable stupid franchise acquisitions. Two things have happened since then, though:
1. The Lone Ranger came out and was quite possibly the best western comic book in ten years.
2. They got Matt Wagner to write it.
So, I've got a lot of hope for this one. Don't let me down, Wagner!
